About the Human Impact Abbey
The Human Impact Abbey invites friends with a background in chronic, long-term homelessness and those who have not experienced homelessness to live alongside each other in intentional community.
The community will hold 12 individuals coming out of a background of homelessness and 2-5 individuals we call "missionals" to live alongside them. The missional's role is to cultivate community and facilitate activities like prayer, AA/NA meetings, shared meals, trips to the doctor, etc.
Hundreds of volunteers annually will be trained, equipped, and invited into community. Dedicated space for this equipping work will allow people to come in and see the life of the community without invading the privacy of those who call the place home.
Our hope is that this model is easily replicable in Dallas and across the country as a way to address long-term homelessness holistically, providing a place for healing for each person.
